Jobs: Assistant Professor, Tenure-Track, Digital History

The History Department at Virginia Tech is hiring a tenure-track assistant professor of digital history. The new faculty member will teach courses and conduct research in digital history, broadly defined. In addition, this faculty will contribute to a new program, Data in Social Context, which connects critical thinking in the humanities and social sciences with computational analysis. Many historians at Virginia Tech are actively involved in digital history projects, including Mapping the Fourth of July, the American Soldier in World War II, Seventeen Moments in Soviet History, Mapping Inequality, Tracking the Russian Flu, Civil War Photo Sleuth, Nahuatl Naman, Viral Networks, Electing the House of Representatives  and more.
